Simply the best!!
Booking Barry was thee best decision we made for our wedding. He played at our church ceremony first and then moved on to play at our drinks reception. We thoroughly enjoyed choosing the songs for our day using his super helpful website. We were spoiled for choice and struggled to pick between all the amazing videos he has on there. The music in the church was simply amazing one of the guests said to me only yesterday "I've been to a lot of weddings but he's the best singer I ever heard". Amazing musician!
We booked Barry over two years before our wedding in February 2024 because from the first time we heard his music we knew he was who we wanted to sing at our wedding. Dealing with Barry was always a pleasure as he was so responsive, helpful and knowledgeable. He has such an extensive song list that it was hard to narrow down which songs we wanted as he performs them all so brilliantly. Nothing was ever an issue for Barry and his relaxed manner helped put us at ease when there were so many decisions to make for the wedding. One the day Barry sang at our church ceremony and also the reception. His music was fantastic and we can’t wait to get our wedding video so we can hear it all over again. He was even kind enough to allow me to use his equipment to perform a song at the reception. We would highly recommend Barry to anyone for their wedding, or any other event also. Ceremony singer
When we started looking for a wedding singer we wanted someone unique and when we heard Barry playing his instruments and singing we knew he was the perfect fit. From our initial contact Barry was a true professional, taking time in guiding us with our song choices to ensure everything was perfect. Barry the best!!
We initially found out about Barry through his social media pages and knew that he would be great for our drinks reception music! Communication and his attention to detail was amazing so we instantly knew we had made the right choice! Before the day he provided playlists to choose songs from or even said he would learn some if we wanted specific ones! By this point we knew Barry was the one! We particularly wanted a good blend between traditional Irish songs and more moderns songs which was no bother to him! On the day everyone loved him, his voice and his playing! He got the party started, guests were dancing and he set the tone for the wedding perfectly for us. 10/10 Barry is in a league of his own!
We recently had the pleasure of having Barry perform for our wedding day 2 celebration! From the moment we enquired he was a pleasure to deal with. Our guests were blown away by him, his ability to blend into the crowd as if he knows them personally is an art he has mastered. He adapted the set to suit the crowd, took on all requests, and even had a guest or two up to sing alongside him. Barry charges very reasonable rates when you consider the talent and skill he has. All music played live, no backing tracks. He also uses the loop pedal to add different layers to his performance. A gentleman through and through and a wonderful performer. Will definitely book Barry for other events in future.

He was amazing and made the ceremony really really special. It was mentioned to us numerous times how good the music was and I would recommend Barry 100%. Talented Musician
Barry played at our wedding ceremony and drinks reception on 29th April 23 at the Step House Hotel, Borris, Co. Carlow. We had originally booked Barry for the ceremony only but after meeting with our celebrant who had worked with him previously, we were convinced to ask him to stay for the drinks reception too and we are so glad that we did! Brilliant musician
We made the best decision to have Barry play at our drinks reception in Darver Castle in February. Barry has a fantastic voice and created such a fun and relaxed atmosphere with his music. Firstly I want to thank Barry so much for the amazing work he did on the 29th of October. The ceremony and the drinks reception are moments in the day that people talk about so fondly. Asking us how do we know you, and how we found you. During Covid, it is so hard to look at different acts and pick who will be perfect for the day. Music is so important to us. Barry was exactly how he is on social media! When you sang the bridal procession song, The book of love, I think everyone took note of the music immediately. I honestly could not recommend Barry Jay enough! One of our friends recommended booking Barry Jay for our Wedding Day 2 BBQ at the Gylde Inn Annagassan, Co. Louth on the August Bank Holiday and I'm so glad she did as he really made the day and set such a fun but chill atmosphere! He has an amazing voice and such a brilliant repertoire of songs, he was taking requests all evening and just good craic and bantering away with us all, he even had some of our guests up singing with him by the end! We were all devastated when he had to finish up, he could have kept the crowd going all night, thats my only feedback wish we had of booked him for longer! Amazing!!
Barry was absolutely brilliant! We had an outdoor wedding in Martinstown House on a lovely summer's day and Barry played for the ceremony and the reception. We could not have been happier to have him play at our wedding! We chose two songs for the wedding entrance, one for the bridesmaids and another for the bride. I remember thinking the transition from one to the other was so smooth. I was absolutely blown away. Although I was already a bit emotional watching my bride walk up the aisle, Barry's beautiful version of the song tipped me over the edge :) Everyone commented on how great the reception music was as well... the perfect soundtrack to our day! Barry is a wonderful singer for any ceremony!
We were absolutely delighted that we chose Barry to sing at our small ceremony and welcome drink afterwards. He was so professional and easy to deal with, and incredibly talented. He even learnt a silly song that we asked him to for us. The kids all loved him and everyone was dancing around to his songs. Can't recommend him enough.

Barry made our day magical!
Barry is a talented musician, pure gentleman, and an extremely talented performer. We booked Barry after hearing him play an intimate gig, and instantly knew he was the singer for our wedding day. He was very professional from the start and communicated with us throughout our planning – including accommodating our change of date due to COVID. His voice was perfect for our ceremony, with every word heartfelt. At reception, he engaged with the guests, took requests from the crowd, and had them singing and dancing along – the perfect start to a wonderful day. Sincere thanks
Barry performed at our wedding in Doolin. Despite being based in Monaghan, it was impressive that he made the trek down! He is super talented. His versions of the songs we requested were all excellent, and everyone from the wedding guests to our celebrant raved about how good Barry was! Barry played our drinks reception also, and we heard was also brilliant there! He was so good, he even managed to book another date from one of our family members for their own wedding in a couple of months. Hire this man!
Having seen and heard Barry perform at a Family wedding and again a few weeks later at a friends wedding, we knew immediately we had to have him sing on our day. He is an absolute gentleman to deal with, and had no problem adding a special request for Genesis to his repertoire. So many of our guests commented on how brilliant he was during both the church ceremony and the drinks reception, he had great banter with our guests taking requests and our nephew loved his version of George Ezra! Such a memorable day!
Barry played at our mass in St McCartan's Cathedral in Monaghan a few weeks ago. He played with my friend and was super responsive from day 1. Fabulous Music!
Barry was absolutely fantastic for our wedding in Harvey's Point, Donegal. From the first contact Barry was always very professional and quick to respond and offer any help or suggestions. He arrived early to the venue and was extremely friendly. We first met Barry at a wedding fair and from the moment we heard him playing we knew he was the man for us! Barry played at our drinks reception in Bellingham Castle and he was absolutely fantastic! Phenomenal
We booked Barry having come across his version of You Are Mine on youtube and decided there and then that we wanted him to perform that at our Wedding Mass. From the first day we contacted him to the end of our drinks reception, Barry was phenomenal. Every song he performed was pitch perfect and beautiful. He brought our Wedding Mass to a new level (as my Mother-in-Law says he “enhanced the Liturgy”) and a tear to pretty much every eye in the house. His instrumental on the low whistle is something my new husband and I will treasure for the rest of our lives. Our guests could not stop talking about how amazing Barry is and to say that we would recommend him is a serious understatement. We could not be happier that we chose to have Barry perform for us.
