The refurbishment draws inspiration from travels across the globe, where Irish country chic meets with eclectic influences from India, Istanbul, Middle East and beyond. The blend of local Irish made furniture and hand-made accessories from international artisans, combined with original antiques from The Station House and it’s history as a busy railway junction, all combine to give the venue its unique feel and charm.

The Story
The Slattery family started to welcome guests in 1983 and launched the award winning Signal Restaurant on Easter Saturday night, 1984 with a bang! Since then, they and their team have won numerous awards and built a reputation for excellent food and service, using the freshest Boyne Valley produce, and ensuring that everything from the berry compote to the brandy and peppercorn sauce, is home-made to perfection! This food ethos carries through to each and every wedding at The Station House Hotel, making it not only a unique destination for it's beautiful gardens and historic charm, but also for it's wonderfully fresh and delicious dishes.
Features
The original train station buildings and features have been lovingly restored by the Slattery's, and now sit on twelve acres of manicured gardens and woodlands, listed in the Boyne Valley Garden Trail.
The original Signal Suite is the only one of its kind in Ireland and has been converted into a two storey honeymoon suite separate from the hotel, offering you complete privacy on your wedding day.
The Station House has 19 bedrooms. These can be held exclusively for you and your guests.
The original stone Turntable, set amidst the woodland and hidden gardens, provides a truly mystical setting for your outdoor ceremony, whilst the Carriage Suite, originally the engine and goods room, is perfect for hosting elegant indoor ceremonies and celebrations with original granite stonework, wood panelling and seating for up to 180 guests.
The Carriage Suite:
Once the locomotive workshop, it is now a beautiful and opulent banqueting hall. Working with the design team at Millimetre Design, Suzanne (Slattery) set out to create a wonderful garden themed space in the Carriage Suite, whilst preserving the original granite stone walls, panelling and key features such as the bar which is located to one end of the room.
For design lovers, features include exotic green veined marble set against brass hardware on the bar counter and bathroom vanities, William Morris wall-paper and antique mirror blend perfectly with the granite stone, whilst the hand-made Italian Murano chandelier in the foyer sets the tone for what lies ahead. Once you enter the banqueting hall, the garden theme is apparent, with ceilings adorned with floral and foliage in amongst an array of chandeliers, whilst each of the windows are dressed with fresh eucalyptus bringing a beautiful aroma as you enter.
Crisp white linen on the tables sets off the herringbone wood floor and the Louis XVI style chairs, designed and chosen for comfort as well as style. For larger numbers (160 or more), classic cream Chiavari chairs work equally well against the wood floor and the garden theme.
For the tech lovers, there is a newly installed AC and heating system ensuring the temperature is perfect all year round, a ceiling projector for use during speeches, and adjustable lighting scenes aimed to provide the perfect ambience through-out your day.
The Carriage Suite can also used for beautiful indoor ceremonies against a cream linen back-drop and romantic candle lanterns framing the aisle.

Completely Magical
We had our wedding in the Station House Hotel on Saturday, 14th Oct 2023. I will start this review by mentioning that we only got engaged at the end of Feb 23 and started viewing venues in March, so from the get go we had a huge ask - we absolutely wanted to get married this year! From the minute we set foot into the Station House we fell in love with the outside ceremony area and all of the lights twinkling as we walked up to meet the lovely Suzanne who showed us around. Part of me was worried that she’d laugh us out of the place at the end of the tour when we told her that we wanted to get married this year, but instead Suzanne assured us that they could not only make it happen but that they even had a Saturday available. We knew straight away that the Station House was ‘the one’. The relaxed atmosphere, the quirky decor and the feeling of magic when we walked around was exactly what we wanted to feel on our wedding day. Once we’d booked in the date, we were matched up with our wedding co-ordinator Aoife Scanlon who had quite the task on her hands meeting a couple who’d given her 5 months to do what most people do in 2 years! From the second we met Aoife she completely put us at ease and made us feel so relaxed and reassured that there was absolutely nothing that couldn’t be done in that time. In the run up to getting married the comment I kept getting from friends, family and colleagues was that I was the most relaxed bride they’ve ever seen and I am 100% sure that I felt that was thanks to Aoife. She made absolutely everything in terms of planning feel easy and even when we threw an absolute spanner in the works in the 11th hour days before the wedding by asking ‘is there any chance’ we could screen the Ireland vs New Zealand rugby match for 160 guests in the ballroom directly after dinner, again Aoife said ‘leave it with me’ as if we’d asked her to pass the sugar! The match was screened to the absolute delight of some very concerned guests who were devastated at the thought of missing out on the match. Even though we lost it kept the night running smoothly as my big fear was losing guests to phones under the table or wandering off to find a screen and never getting them back but this way it added a massive atmosphere to the room between the dinner and first dance. I could not talk about the wedding without talking about the food. We had been told from the get go that the station house is a foodies dream venue and were so excited about that, but to say that it exceeded expectations doesn’t even cover it. We enjoyed the wedding food tasting so much we were raving about it for weeks, and the actual wedding meal was executed to perfection despite our large numbers. All of our guests are still raving days later about the quality of the food, and we’ve heard from multiple people that it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had which is just such gorgeous feedback to get. Myself and my new husband debriefed the day after the wedding and were in full agreement that there is not one single thing about our day that could have been done any differently or better. The day was even more perfect than we could have imagined. The outdoor ceremony, the woodland first dance, the photos with the autumn leaves and the sun shining in the background all made the day feel like something out of a movie with the stunning backdrop provided by the Station House. The staff here are nothing short of spectacular at what they do. If anyone is considering a wedding in the Station House, I literally cannot say enough complimentary things about the staff and venue. When we first met our wedding co-ordinator Aoife we told her that all we wanted was to have a fun and relaxed day that we would enjoy as well as our guests, and what we got was a day that was not only fun and relaxed, but felt completely magical too. I already can’t wait to come back to the Station House for our anniversary and re-live some of the magic.

Staff, Service and food exceptional
My wife and I held our wedding at the Station House Hotel in October 2023. The staff, service and food was exceptional. Special thanks to Caroline, Pearse, Suzanne, Jack and the Slattery family for taking care of us and certain special guests so well, we all had the time of our lives. As a wedding venue, we couldn't be more complimentary: location; ambiance and attention to detail exceeded our expectations. We received so many compliments from our guests about the food and presentation. Caroline was particularly helpful in terms of ensuring all our specifics were taken care of on the night. All our interactions were thoroughly positive. We were not suprised that she is in the runner for wedding coordinator of the year, the accolade is thoroughly deserved. Pearse checked in on certain special guests throughout the evening in a caring manner which did not go unnoticed. One aspect that doesn't get mentioned but should be considered for any prospective wedding couple, the Station House take care of much of the softer details that can add cost (Eg table decorations/seating plan). Although we added our own personal touches for the night, these complimentary additions alleviate extra tasks and costs which were welcome in the lead up to our wedding. We are looking forward to celebrating future events and occasions at the Station House. Its a special place.

Dream come true
Our wedding at the Station House Hotel in Kilmeassan was an absolute dream come true. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of perfect. The setting itself is charming and picturesque. The beautiful gardens and historic building provided a wonderful backdrop for our special day. The venue's unique character and old-world charm added a magical touch to our celebration. The staff at the Station House Hotel were exceptional. They went above and beyond to ensure that every detail was taken care of. Their professionalism and attention to detail were impressive, making us feel truly valued and at ease throughout the entire planning process and the big day. The food was outstanding, and our guests raved about the quality of the meal. From the canapés to the main course and desserts, everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The hotel's accommodations were comfortable, and our guests enjoyed a pleasant stay. The convenience of having both the ceremony and reception at the same location made everything seamless and stress-free. Overall, we can't thank the Station House Hotel enough for making our wedding day absolutely perfect. Special place in our hearts
Myself and my partner Glenn cannot begin to praise The Station House enough for everything Aoife, Pearse and the team did for us on our wedding day. From the bottom of our hearts we are forever grateful to The Station House for giving us the most amazing wedding day, better than we could ever dream to imagine. Perfect place
From the moment we set foot on the enchanting grounds of the station house hotel we knew we had found the perfect place to celebrate our special day. From the very first meeting, till the end the team at the station house were fantastic, offering guidance, suggestions, and answering all of our questions. The wedding coordinator Caroline was an absolute gem. Caroline worked tirelessly to ensure every detail of our big day was just as we envisioned. The level of service we received on the day was second to none. The staff were friendly, professional, and went out of their way to accommodate our needs and those of our guests. A special mention to Emmet who went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed every moment of our day. The food on the day was beautifully presented and delicious. Unfortunately on the morning of our wedding storm betty knocked the power out in the hotel but hotel owners Thelma & Chris sprung into action and kindly brought the wedding party and family to their home to have their hair and makeup done, while there they were even treated to scones and bubbles, such a kind gesture and one that turned what could have been a stressful situation into a great experience! The storm cleared and our guests arrived to the most magnificent outdoor ceremony set up. Lots of guest commented on how they were captivated by the venue and the whole experience. Thanks to the exceptional team at the station house hotel, our wedding day was truly perfect for us. We are grateful to the entire team for their dedication and hard work in ensuring that our wedding was an unforgettable experience for us and our guests. welcoming, magical and dream like day!
The Station House and it’s team were absolutely fantastic! From the first viewing over a year before our date we knew it was for us! It is so magical and the fact it is family run is so warming. We happened to meet Imelda a few times by chance when we were visiting it on the lead up and it just felt so welcoming. We even got a Christmas card! Due to the nature of our jobs we couldn’t make the tasting events but they kindly put on a separate tasting dinner just for us! Any request or query we had wasn’t too big or small. On the day, Caroline was amazing! There happened to be some construction works on the morning of our wedding and she assured us that they would be complete by the time of the ceremony - and they were! She gave out confetti cones for us to the guests and even helped carry my dress and sort of before I headed down the aisle to the turntable! The food and service was fantastic! So many nice touches with the engraved champagne glasses and the paper from the morning of our wedding. They were so easy to deal with and made the day so magical! I still can’t believe how smooth it was! There was no lull whatsoever as after the dinner, we had our speeches and then went straight out for our first dance in the turntable. We stayed there for a few songs and when we came back in, the band was set up and the room was turned down! I couldn’t get over how streamlined it all was! The staff were so so lovely and made us feel so special! Such a welcoming, magical and dream like day! Thank you! It was the best day!

All we can say is, believe each and every 5-star review that wedding couples have left. The most magical venue with the most attentive, professional staff. The food, the service, the care - all phenomenal. A special mention for the care given to the children we had at our wedding (2 toddlers and a baby). Both sets of parents commented on how attentive the staff were to the needs of the children. Our only wish is to be able to do it all again! Thank you to all the staff at The Station House Hotel.

To Aoife, Pierce & Trish ye made our day so relaxed and were so good to Rachel & myself. Magical wedding experience
I recently had my wedding at the Station House Hotel on June 9th, 2023, and it was an absolutely incredible experience. Aoife and her team are exceptional at their jobs and a true credit to the hotel. They went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect, and their kindness and dedication made our day truly special. The venue itself is dreamy and fairytale-like, with everyone commenting on how amazing it looked. The food was incredible, and despite serving a large group, they accommodated everyone and the taste was amazing. The little touches, like personalised champagne glasses and thoughtful gestures like leaving us a newspaper from the day of our wedding, made the team stand out even more. I highly recommend the Station House Hotel for a magical wedding experience.

Absolutely Gorgeous Wedding
The station house is an absolutely gorgeous wedding venue. When we were looking for venues my wife fell in love with the fairy tale aesthetic of the station house, from the reception area full of phenomenal decor to the magical turntable, every single part of the station house is designed beautifully. The staff at the station house go above and beyond to make your wedding day feel truly special. The wedding team are so genuine and helpful, they are fantastic at answering any and all silly questions you have as well as communicating thoroughly on every step of the process. Special mention to Caroline McCoy, our wedding coordinator, she was genuinely outstanding! Leading up to the day she was answering every one of my 7 million emails and on the day she was irreplaceable. She helped set up in the reception area, she helped put on the groomsman's boutonnieres, she directed vendors to the proper locations(and early guests out of the wrong locations), my wife and I both know that we wouldn't have had our perfect day without her help. The station house is perfect if you're looking for a fairytale wedding venue full of thoughtful and caring staff.

Best decision we made
Having our wedding at The Station House Hotel was the best decision we made. We wanted a very specific type of venue, and the hotel ticked all of our boxes. The food was absolutely amazing, all of our guests had such high compliments of the dinner. We were able to add on to our menu, add vegan options for some of our guests and the chef really tailored to everyone. The reception itself is absolutely beautiful. They gave us multiple options of how we wanted our table layouts to be. We were also able to use their decorations and bring in a 3rd party if we wanted specific flowers or centrepieces but the ceiling is it’s own showstopper! They give you a full list of every supplier that has ever worked with them. It was so handy having everything right in front of us! We had the ceremony outside in the turntable, and I absolutely loved how we could style it the way we wanted it. It really brought our story to life and it was everything we envisioned. It’s definitely worth it, the value for what we got was fantastic. We had choice of cocktails, ice cream for the kids in a vintage ice cream cart, and the appetisers that we chose were delicious! There was so much more we got to choose from and we have our own personalised champagne glasses to use every year on our anniversary. We were Truly relaxed knowing everything was there for everyone The staff could not do more for you, everything was timed perfectly, they were on top of it all and any questions or requests you had.. There was no hesitation. Caroline, our wedding planner was brilliant! From the beginning it was so professional and she had everything done and dusted behind the scenes in the most efficient way. We didn’t have to worry about a thing! I can’t recommend The Station House Hotel enough, If I could do it all over again.. This is the venue I’d chose!

We can not express how much the station house went above and beyond to make our wedding weekend unbelievable , from Suzanne on reception who was with us every step of the way from the time we booked , to the gorgeous Michelle her service was incredible , Colin our manager on the journey and the day who guided us and looked after our guest beyond all our expectations Aoife our wedding coordinator exceptional , the food was truly the best we have ever had at at wedding our guests where blown away !! Best Day
We had the best day at our wedding at the end of April 2023 in the Station House Hotel. The staff on the day were just lovely, Aoife especially, perfectly balancing professionalism with being friendly. The venue looked beautiful and the food was delicious. Having the ceremony on site in the forest was very magical, even with crows and bird poo, it was a highlight of the day, with so many compliments from our guests! The function room was gorgeous, and perfectly fit 100-110 guests using the round table layout shown in their wedding showcases. While we really enjoyed our wedding, it wasn't ideal for the morning prep, especially as there was a wedding the day before. The space was tight, and really wouldn't be recommended if you have a large bridal party. If you are planning on getting ready at home anyway though, definitely consider the Station House! We would also recommend booking an extra shuttle bus for guests staying in the area to ensure a smooth end to the night.

Amazing wedding at the Station House
We had the most amazing wedding in athe Station House. From our first viewing, we fell in love with the venue and could not get over how incredible all the staff were! They made sure everything ran absolutely perfectly on the day so we could just relax and enjoy it. All our guest kept saying how much they loved the venue and that the whole place was like a fairytale. We had the absolute best day and could not recommend it more. Huge shout out to Colin and Caroline aswell for making the day so perfect for us!

We had the pleasure of hosting our wedding at The Station House on 30/3/23, and we are absolutely delighted to share our exceptional experience. We were able to drop off our extra decorations, favours, and other personal items the day before the wedding. Not a single item was forgotten or misplaced. Every member of the team was attentive, accommodating, and made us feel like our happiness was their top priority. We were particularly impressed when after dinner Adele absentmindedly left her bag and cape behind. The staff promptly noticed and took care of them, ensuring they were safely returned to our room, waiting for us. Their attentiveness and commitment to going above and beyond left a lasting impression on both us and our guests. The food at The Station House was amazing. The food served during the reception was simply fantastic. Each dish was expertly prepared, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavour. All our guests were so impressed and satisfied. Lastly, the venue itself deserves high praise. The Station House is a truly gorgeous location for a wedding. Its timeless charm and picturesque surroundings created an enchanting atmosphere that set the perfect backdrop for our celebration. Everything we asked for
We had our wedding at our Station House last month and I can honestly say it was everything we could’ve asked for! The outdoor ceremony was perfect, Jack & Jill and all the staff at the station house were super helpful on and before the day. Anything we wanted or asked for, we got without question. We loved it
We loved our wedding at the Station House Hotel. It's such a magical setting and we loved that it's a family run business. All our guests thought the venue was beautiful and that the food was amazing. Our wedding co-ordinator changed 3 times since booking the venue, which wasn't ideal, but did not impact our day. We loved every part of this venue.

Extremely Happy
We can’t say enough about The Station House Hotel. Everyone was so incredibly kind and professional and went above and beyond to make our day so special. We planned our wedding from abroad and it really came together perfectly. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous, so cozy and intimate.
